"Mad Men" Martinis at Palio D'Asti

Are you excited that one of television’s most iconic shows is back on the air? Well what better of a way to celebrate the return of Mad Men than with midday cocktails? In order to encourage the return of business meal libations, Executive Chef Dan Scherotter of Palio D’Asti (640 Sacramento Street) in the Financial District has created some wonderful lunchtime martinis that will be available throughout April for just $1.00 with the purchase of your entree.

Palio regularly offers a sensational Happy Hour during the afternoon with $1 artisan pizzas to go with your drinks. But martinis for just a buck brings happiness to a whole new level.

“We have so many regulars at lunch that offering martinis at 1950s prices seemed a natural way to say thanks for your loyalty,” said Maître d’ Martino DiGrande. “Plus, Administrative Professionals Week occurs in late April and being able to afford a drink in the middle of the day adds a bit of a festive touch.”

A downtown fixture for over 21 years, it’s good to see that Palio D’Asti has now hit the legal drinking age. And the food isn’t anything to scoff at either, with a Roman Spring Tasting Menu recently added for the new season. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy all kinds of Italian fare served here, because with $1 martinis you’d be a mad man–or woman–not to.
