Literary Events: Dream Memoirs of a Fabulist, I Am Crime & Too Much Magic

This week’s top literary arts events include reading by Jason Benlevi, Doug Rice, and a crime-ridden Feast of Words.

This Thursday, Jason Benlevi will present Too Much Magic: Pulling the Plug on the Cult of Tech, at Books Inc. in Opera Plaza. With internet privacy being such a hot topic of controversy, Benlevi shows a love/hate relationship with technology and reveals how marketers and venture capitalists alike use digital “magic” to invade individual privacy.

On Sunday, check out author Doug Rice as he presents Dream Memoirs of a Fabulist at Modern Times. Dream Memoirs of a Fabulist, Rice’s first book in nearly 10-years, is an exposed memoir, told through dreamy, artsy photographs and language.

This month’s Feast of Words: A Literary Potluck, will be held this Tuesday at the SOMArts Cultural Center. Writers and foodies will come together to eat, write and share. This month’s co-hosts, Lex Leifheit and Irina Zadov, invite writers and foodies of all levels to eat and share under the theme,”I Am Crime”. In addition to potluck dishes, Old Skool Cafe, a local youth-run supperclub, will provide dinner for the audience.
