Grocery Outlet Coming to SF

Grocery Outlet in South San Francisco is scheduled to open on March 24. And although they lost the bid for a Mission area location last year, plans for a store inside city limits remains a company goal.

Grocery Outlet is a Berkeley based family business with 165 stores in 6 states. This market is a favorite stop for bargain hunters. A typical GO store is stocked with discounted groceries, frozen foods, wine, housewares, health and beauty products, overstock items, post holiday merchandise, and discontinued packaged goods. And yes, some stores do carry fresh produce. All of which sells for up to 50 percent off retail prices.

Every GO market location is managed by independent operators, so the selection varies by location. The South San Francisco store at 125 Hickey Boulevard, will be operated by Dave and Michelle Radcliffe, together with their 3 children. Dave spent 25 years working at Trader Joe’s, so the opportunity to become an owner operator was a dream come true for him. He hopes the community welcomes his neighborhood market, and become regular customers.
