Gallery Openings: Of Darkness, Harum Scarum & Visions Beyond the Badge

This week’s best gallery openings include new shows at 111 Minna, the Harvey Milk Photography Center and the Luggage Store Gallery.

111 Minna will celebrate February’s First Thursday with Harum Scarum, a group exhibit featuring the work of local mixed-media/collage artist, David Ball. Work by fellow SF artist, Jesse Balmer and San Diego-based artist, Katherine Brannock‘s will also be on display.

Following First Thursday, two fantastic shows, Of Darkness and Visions Beyond the Badge, will open this Friday at the Luggage Store Gallery and Harvey Milk Photography Center, respectively.

Of Darkness is a mixed-media installation by local artist Adriane Colburn. The exhibition presents drawings, sculpture, video and photography, and is the result of Colburn’s journey, traveling through Antarctica and Amazon, with scientists who study climate change.

Visions Beyond the Badge is a unique group photography show by the fire fighters and policeman of SF.
