On January 14, 2012, Perbacco (230 California Street) will be the setting for the Friend of James Beard Dinner, featuring the talented, award-winning chef Tony Mantuano from Chicago’s world-renowned Spiaggia. The evening’s special culinary guest has amassed quite the fan-base, including none other than President Obama himself, who has proudly declared Mantuano to be his personal favorite.

This one-night only event will be limited to 60 lucky diners and will help raise funds for the James Beard House, providing fantastic fare for gourmet aficionados from around the world. Perbacco’s own Staffan Terje worked with Mantuano to craft an extravagant four-course dinner inspired by the flavors of Piemonte, Italy.

The experience begins with a cocktail reception at 6pm, followed by dinner at 7pm. Throughout the evening, there will be a live auction where guests can bid on an array of exciting culinary prizes, including cooking classes, cookbooks and tailored menu dining engagements from the Chefs Table at Perbacco.
