Theater Openings: Fela!, SF Hip Hop DanceFest & More

This week, celebrate the stage with an acclaimed musical, a Pulitzer-Prize-winning play and some chart-topping hip hop.

The ever inspiring true story of the legendary Nigerian musician, Fela Kuti, comes to life in the hit musical, Fela!, at the Curran Theatre. The critically acclaimed show launches this Tuesday and runs through December 11.

This Thursday, The Effect of Gama Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds kicks off at the Gough Street Playhouse. The Pulitzer-Prize-winning play by Paul Zindel, tells the story of a boardinghouse owner and her dysfunctional relationship with her two, very different daughters.

This Friday through Sunday, don’t miss the SF Hip Hop DanceFest at the Palace of Fine Arts. 19 of the most badass hip-hop crews around the world will be popping, locking and getting down in two huge sets.
