Seatraffic

What’s the one-sentence story behind your band name?

The word “Seatraffic” is based on the abstract idea of a wide open sea being congested with traffic, it is a metaphor for the music industry and our unique sound.

Name a Bay Area band (other than your own) people need to check out immediately.

Shannon and the Clams is by far our favorite Bay Area band. They are really fun live and there music is a amazing.

What’s the strangest place your band has played a show?

Just recently we played a show at Kimo’s in SF with three hardcore metal bands. Even though our genre is incredibly different that hardcore metal; Our fans and the fans of the other bands had a great time.

If you could be any musician for one performance only (living or dead), who would it be, where would you perform, and why?

Without even having to think it would be Beach House, and if we were Beach house we would want to play at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, New York. Beach Houses’ music is very simple but so powerful, it is amazing what they are able to do on stage with a guitar and a keyboard. We’d love to play in Brooklyn because people are so passionate about music over there.
