Chairman Bao Name Change
Chairman Bao no more. Don’t worry, the popular food truck is still in business. But the name was shortened to The Chairman. The name change was made official on Wednesday with a new Facebook account: http://www.facebook.com/TheChairmanTruck.
According to chef-partner Hiroo Nagahara, “The truck currently known as Chairman Bao is dropping the ‘Bao’ and will be known moving forward simply as The Chairman. We decided to change our name as the truck shifts in a direction to include more than just bao. I’ve spent the past year refining my art and staging at great houses around the world. I hope to share my experiences with everyone.”
Taking a page from the Nom Nom Truck’s multi-city food truck empire. It seems that The Chairman has his sights on expanding to LA. Since they plan to celebrate a public re-launch party and tasting in that city on November 3. A second Chairman truck is scheduled to be ready at end of the year. I assume this to be the replacement truck for Bay Area fans.
