Hundreds of thousands of music fans showed up for the 11th edition of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass to hear everything from traditional Americana to experimental guitar rock.

The crowds were huge for some performances, but the smaller stages (there were six in all) were much more manageable. Highlights this year included a set by Robert Plant and the Band of Joy that was peppered with Led Zeppelin classics, NOLA soul singer Irma Thomas and a gumbo mix of Southern rock, surf and rockabilly from Southern Culture on the Skids.
