Theater: SORYA!, Night School & Stripped Stories

This week dinner is served with dance at YBCA, a new play takes the stage at NOHspace, and the gloves (and everything else!) come off at Punchline

This Saturday, hold off on those OpenTable dinner reservations and take in Night School: Faustin Linyekula, an intimate dinner and dance performance, at the YBCA Novellus Theater. Indulge in a specially paired gourmet dinner while enjoying Faustin Linyekula’s more more more…future. If the costumes (above) are any indication, it’s sure to be a fun evening. Tickets range from $30-$40 and space is limited. For tickets, please call 415-978-ARTS.

On Sunday, Theatre of Yugen premiers their latest work, SORYA!: A Miner Miracle at the NOHspace theater. SORYA! is an uplifting journey that explores Japanese culture and children’s fables. This one is definitely good for the kids, but adults will get a kick out of it, too. SORYA! runs though Monday, October 24.

Tuesday’s Stripped Stories, on the other hand, is definitely not one for the kids. The sex-themed comedy show returns to The Punchline, with hosts Giulia Rozzi (MTV, VH1) and Margot Leitman (Conan O’Brien, Spike TV), and watch out — no ex-lover’s kinks are safe from full-on public scrutiny.
