Big Book Sale Back at Fort Mason

Books by the thousands will be available as the West Coast’s largest book sale once again invades the Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion this week.

The 47th Annual Big Book Sale starts on Wednesday and will feature over 500,000 books, DVDs, CDs, books on tape, vinyl and other forms of media. Plus, everything is $4 or less and items on Sunday will be marked down to a buck.

All proceeds from the event benefit the San Francisco Public Library’s literacy programs for children, teens and adults.

Hardcovers will be $4 Wednesday and Thursday and $3 Friday and Saturday. Paperbacks will be $2 Wednesday through Saturday. And other media will be $2 Wednesday and Thursday, $1 the rest of the week. New stock will be added daily.

The Big Book Sale will be open and free to the public the entire week. It is open from 10-8 Wednesday-Saturday and from 10-6 on Sunday.
