Richmond Round-Up

Free art workshops for kids, Opera in the Park to celebrate 9/11 and an adult scavenger hunt…just some of the happenings this week in the Richmond District

Here’s a closer look courtesy of the Richmond SF blog.

Registration opens for local art program… Every weekend through the middle of December, kids ages 5-12 will get a chance to take free art workshops taught by Bay Area artists, part of the Richmond District Neighborhood Center’s Multicultural Arts Program. There is a limit of two workshops per child and classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Opera in the Park with special meaning… This year’s Opera in the Park free concert at Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate Park will pay special tribute to the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The concert gets underway at 2 p.m.

Richmond-themed scavenger hunt on Saturday… CLASH (The California League of Adult Scavenger Hunters) will be back in the Richmond on Saturday, with a “free-for-all” up and down Clement Street. The Conquisition of Clement Street begins with check-in and “liquid courage fueling.” The hunt starts at 8 p.m.
