Richmond Round-Up

“Baseball Mary” appears on Showtime’s “The Franchise,” a new restaurant opens on Geary and a website offers a historical photo tour of San Francisco.

That’s all part of this past week in the Richmond according to the Richmond SF blog.

Website offers photo tour of SF… Oldsf.org launched recently and allows users to browse through photos, by location, from the San Francisco Public Library’s Historical Photography Collection. It’s pretty easy. You just click on one of the dots on the map and see a preview of the photo or photos of that location.  About 65 percent of the library’s 40,000 historical images have been assigned locations.

Baseball Mary appears on TV series…Baseball Mary, arguably one of the biggest San Francisco Giants fans in the Richmond, made an appearance in the Showtime reality series “The Franchise.”

Green Island Restaurant opens on Geary… The restaurant, located at 4012 Geary between 4th and 5th, is replacing Vietnamese restaurant New Hoa Ky. It’s a mix of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes that are all reasonably priced. The restaurant is open Monday-Thursday from 10-10 and Friday-Sunday 10-midnight.
