SFMOMA Celebrates Latin Heritage Month

The beginning of September marks the start of Latin Heritage Month and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is set to assist you in discovering and appreciating Latin American art.

Selected Histories: 20th Century Art from the SFMOMA Collection will showcase a variety of influential artists who not only made an impact on their culture but also contributed significantly to the art world. The exhibit will emphasize Latin American modernism with pieces by Cuba’s Wilfredo Lam, Uruguay’s Joaquin Torres-Garcia and, of course, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.

In addition to the great art, the museum’s cafe will also be taking part in the month-long event by providing desserts inspired by pieces of the collection like Frida Kahlo Mexican wedding cookies.
