Richmond Round-Up

Taking a look at what’s going on in San Francisco’s Richmond District this week, there’s plenty in store coming up for the art lover in your life.

Here’s a closer look at what made news and lies ahead courtesy of the Richmond SF blog:

School zone speed limit dropped… A story we touched on earlier this week about the city of San Francisco implementing a new speed limit near school zones. The Richmond SF blog reports that the effort kicked off in the neighborhood at George Peabody Elementary School. The plan is expected to be fully implemented by late next year.

New exhibit opens at Legion of Honor… On Saturday, an exhibit titled “The Mourners: Tomb Sculptures from the Court of Burgundy” will open at the Legion of Honor. The blog reports the exhibit features “37 devotional figures that recreate the mourners in a royal funeral procession.” The exhibit runs through the end of the year.

de Young Museum Store to host Fair Trade Bazaar… This Friday and Saturday, the de Young Museum Store will host their inaugural Fair Trade Bazaar. The event will showcase fair trade products from around the world, including vendors showcasing jewelry, textiles, handcrafts and accessories “reflecting the museum’s multicultural collections.” Admission to the event is free.
