Pete Escovedo Talks Art in the Mission

Pete Escovedo is known as a talented, world-renowned musician and father of the eternally-cool drummer Sheila E. but many people might not realize that he is also an accomplished visual artist with decades of paintings under his belt.

Although his music has taken him all over the world including right inside of the White House, Escovedo’s been painting since the age of 16. Now has an impressive body of work he’s completed using oil, acrylic, latex, enamel, pencil and even crayon.

Radio personality Sterling James will interview the Latin music legend at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts on August 24th. He will discuss his life, career and art as a part of their Art Impact series which highlights individuals who “have a background in the arts, but are not necessarily working withing the art world.”

The event is free and begins at 6pm. Check out Mission Cultural Center’s site for more details.
