Palace Family Steak House Redux?

Bernalwood reports that Mission Street’s now-closed Palace Family Steak House may be coming back to life. However, the question remains as to who the new management will be and just what kind of food they will be serving?

Personally, I never thought the old Palace Family Steak House, sitting near a grungy corner of Mission and Cesar Chavez, looked very inviting. However, it definitely had its fans.

According to Bernalwood, “The Palace Family Steak House is poised for rebirth as… The Palace Family Steak House. It seems the new owners seek to maintain the spirit of the classic original, which served classic iceberg-lettuce salads and Sizzler-style steaks at prices that were easy on the pocket.”

The photos of the interior posted on the blog, with its red counter stools and vinyl booths, look very old school-diner-y. But it does not look like a traditional steakhouse. Word on the street is that the place may be opening as soon as next week.
