Two Sisters Bar: Coming to Hayes Street in September

I was walking up Hayes Street last week when I noticed a Mexican restaurant (that I avoided after hearing multiple bad stories) closed. Excited by the empty space that’d surely turn into something much more exciting, I took a closer look. Low and behold, I was right.

The sign on the window said, “Two Sisters Bar and Books, Coming Soon!” Could it really be true? Could a spot run by two sisters (being one of two sisters, I love that!) that’s all about good books and good booze really be gracing the streets of my ’hood? Woo hoo!

Today I saw a preview on 7X7 offering a deeper look at this new and oh-so exciting addition to the ’hood. It looks like the spot is going to be a chillaxed space for book-lovers to eat, drink, and read. The vintage-inspired menu will include classics like deviled eggs as well as a relaxed brunch menu perfect for a lazy, literary Sunday. The booze menu will include a carefully selected list of wine and beer as well as a spirit-focused cocktail list.

As for the books, the premise of the space is to offer a spot for literary minds to meet and exchange. The book list consists of 300 archived books as well as a take one, leave one policy to keep the library fresh.

Just in time for back-to-school season, Two Sisters Bar will be opening in September. In the mean time, follow them on Facebook for updates and news. Grab your nerd glasses and get ready for a revitalized cocktail experience.
