On Thursday evening at the African American Art and Culture Complex, D. Scot Miller and Shawn Taylor will host a Black Futurist Reading and Open Mic.

Miller and Taylor, the featured poets of the evening, are interesting characters with resumes boasting thought-provoking titles like Miller’s novel Knot Frum Hear or Taylor’s Big Black Penis, just to name a few. Surely this evening will be one to remember. One that might make you raise your eyebrow a little. In that good way.

If you remember, a few months ago there was an amazing Black Futurist art opening that also took place at the AAACC that visually showcased what this reading will provide verbally: an afrofuturistic feast for the mind.
