SF to Hold Women’s World Cup Viewing Party

The Women’s World Cup Semi-finals will be broadcast on a giant screen in San Francisco’s Civic Center Plaza on Wednesday.

After last year’s viewing parties were such a success for the men’s World Cup, the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department decided to dot he same for the women’s tournament.

There are games and activities for parents and kids alike and food trucks from Off the Grid will also be providing food.

At 9 a.m., the United States takes on France in one semi-final. And at 11:45, Japan and Sweden take to the field.

The U.S. Women’s National Team is coming off one of the most stirring and dramatic soccer matches in this country’s history, defeating Brazil on penalty kicks on Sunday.
