Foodie Fest
This August brings the return of San Francisco’s premier food, wine and spirits festival: SF Chefs.
Centered around Union Square from August 5th through the 7th, SF Chefs 2011 promises to be a raucous affair, featuring more than 200 of the Bay Area’s best restaurants, distilleries, breweries and wineries all located under one Grand Testing Tent.
The event kicks off with an opening ceremony that will provide attendees with more than 4 hours of food and booze tastings guaranteed to please the palates of even the most adventurous of fine-dining connoisseurs. Over the weekend there will be classes and demos available at the nearby Westin St. Francis (335 Powell Street). Sunday afternoon will be highlighted by a special presentation honoring the city’s many culinary innovators: renowned chefs and winemakers who are at the forefront of providing groundbreaking cuisine and sustainable, local ingredients to their endlessly devoted patrons. And get ready to party late-night as a number of the events will be rocking well past 1 AM.
