Preview: Culture Clash @ CELLspace

Described as dance party and artist exchange, Culture Clash is an appropriate name as the eclectic DJ and artist lineup, showcasing primarily local flavor, is about as diverse as you can get. Tonight at CELLspace the event will be celebrating creativity, community, and culture.

With the goal of “building community through cultural exchange,” Culture Clash brings artists, DJs, performers, venders, and craft fans together at Mission area non-profit CELLspace to celebrate the community created through sharing a wide array of talents. With eight music acts planned, your ears will be delighted while taking in the art and joining the grassroots movement.

Headliner Blackbird Blackbird, a 23-year old vocalist and producer from San Francisco has recently boomed in popularity among the indie scene, wooing dancefloors with his dreampop, euphoric productions featuring soothing vocals from various artists.

The duo Old Arc from Santa Cruz have a experimental sound consisting of heavy synths, elements of funk and soul, and an overlay of often scrambled vocals. The sound is really like none other and the only way to fully grasp their unique style is to experience it yourself.

DJ Loco, one of the talents behind nationally massive party crew Goldsweat, is a Bay Area staple, consistently winning over dancefloors with tropically-infused heavy bass vibes and high energy sets. He recently released a mix titled MarinCounty, perfect for an adventure north of the city with a minimal, bass-filled sound.
