Dining for a Great Cause

Many San Francisco restaurants and businesses have been holding numerous fundraisers over the last two months, all in an effort to help those affected by the deadly earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

The latest is a gathering of some of the best chefs and beer, wine and cocktail experts in San Francisco, who will be preparing a 6 course Japanese inspired meal with cocktail pairings this weekend.

The SF Chefs Unite dinners will be held at the California Culinary Academy on Saturday and Sunday night. It will start with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 6 p.m. followed by the dinner.

Chefs include Chad Newton with FK Restaurant & Hospitality, Danny Bowlien, Mission Chinese Food, Michael Hung, busi-tei, Michael Black, Sebo, Grace Nguyen, Asian Box, Robbie Lewis, Bon Appetit, Jordan Grosser, Stag Dining Group and Jake Godby with Humphry Slocombe.

Tickets are $150 with all the proceeds going to the Japanese Cultural Community Center of Northern California.
