Coachella by the Bay: Trentemøller

Still looking for a good reason to convince yourself that it’s better to be in SF than Coachella this weekend? Before Trentemøller heads to Indo for the festival, you can catch him at his first live set in the Bay Area since 2007 at Mezzanine this Saturday.

Anders Trentemøller is a Copenhagen-based producer and multi-instrumentalist who started out with a number of classic single productions dating back to 2003. Trentemøller made his debut album in 2006, The Last Resort, which was selected as “Album of the Year” in the German magazine Groove Mag and the French magazine Trax. In the same year, his Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 was voted Essential Mix of the Year by listeners. His most recent project Into the Great Yonder was released in 2010.

Trentemøller’s sound can be described as a chill twist to progressive house, easily reminiscent of Deadmau5. On tracks like “Miss You,” you can feel the low tempo chill electronic beat that has made him a fan favorite in Europe over the past few years.

A Trentemøller live show is a unique, immersive, and jaw-dropping experience. He never plays the same set twice and performances are sculpted to fit the unique aspects of the venue.

Trentemøller will be playing at the Mezzanine on the 16th, along with Dorit Chrysler and DJ Mozaic, the perfect way to drown your Coachella sorrows on the headlining day of the big event.
