Chefs to Battle in Island Cook Off Wednesday Night

A month-long battle between five San Francisco chefs and restaurants culminates on Wednesday in an island-inspired cooking competition.

The Island Style Cook Off is being held at Sens Restaurant in the Embarcadero Center with all proceeds benefiting Project Open Hand.

For $20, guests will get a lei, cocktails and music and a sampling of the pupu platters from each chef. The restaurants being represented are Sens Restaurant, The Brick Yard, Level III, Oola and Butterfly.

The main event of the evening will be an Iron Chef-style competition, where the chefs will compete to create the best dish using a mystery basket of island ingredients.

Project Open Hand has been providing “meals with love” to people living with serious illnesses and to seniors in San Francisco and Alameda County since 1985.

The cook-off event will be held from 6:30-9:00 p.m.  According to the event’s Eventbrite page, tickets are sold out, but a limited number will be available at the door.
