SF Foodie reports that there will be a town hall meeting tomorrow, Friday February 25th from 4-7pm at 1 South Van Ness (at Market), Atrium Conference Room, explaining the new rules applying to mobile food vendors.

In an effort to decrease conflict between food trucks and brick and mortar establishments (JapaCurry anyone?) the Department of Public Works is taking over (as of March 7th) the issuing of licenses and regulations and the handling of mobile vendors from the Police Dept, who apparently had no idea what it was doing.
