Mac and Cheese Lovers Rejoice
The age of specialty dining establishments expanded this week as Homeroom opened its doors in Oakland.
Allison Arevalo and Erin Wade are the owners of the restaurant, which specializes in macaroni and cheese. They use artisanal cheeses from local cheesemakers. And while the main focus is a variety of mac and cheese, they say they will also feature veggies, sweets and a selection of local beers and wines. Most of the mac and cheese dishes are in the $8-9 range.
Homeroom started lunch service on Tuesday and will begin dinner service on Tuesday, February 22. And although they do not take reservations, Arevalo and Wade said there is plenty of seating at the restaurant.
