Former McDonald’s Execs to Open Healthy Fast Food Chain

How do you go from schilling greasy fast food to serving up fare that’s free of butter, cream and high-fructose corn syrup and all less than 600 calories? Two former McDonald’s executives, ex-President and COO Mike Roberts and communications head Mike Donahue, are starting a healthy fast food chain called Lyfe Kitchen (short for “Love Your Food Everyday”).

According to The Huffington Post, “The business will aim for the increasingly popular “fast casual” segment of the restaurant market, serving up made-to-order cuisine in the vein of Panera or Chipotle.” Entrees are planned to be $8-$12.

The first restaurant in the chain is set to open in Palo Alto this summer.
