Verizon Begins Taking Pre-Orders for iPhone

Verizon Wireless has begun taking pre-orders for Apple iPhones, while also releasing a few details on service charges for the smart phone.

The company said a basic voice plan, including 450 minutes per month, will cost $40.

A voice and text plan, including unlimited text messages, will start at $60 per month. And a separate data plan for e-mail and web browsing will cost $30 a month.

Verizon said customers will also be able to use the iPhone as a Wi-Fi hotspot for an extra $20 a month.

The company is setting aside a limited number of phones for customers who already subscribe to Verizon.  Pre-orders began on Thursday morning.
