SusieCakes in the Marina is gearing up for National Pie Day, January 22nd (why is this not a national holiday?), by holding a pie recipe contest. It is also hosting some cool baking classes.

Submit your favorite pie recipes to [email protected] for a chance to have you pie featured in all SusieCakes locations (Brentwood, Calabasas, Newport Beach, Manhattan Beach, Marin and SF) on Jan. 22. Also on that day, they are launching a Pie-of-the-Month Club: where pie lovers will receive a nine-inch specialty pie each month for an entire year. Yum!

The SF shop is hosting a cupcake decorating class (Sun, Jan 30, 4-5:30pm, $65) and layer cake decorating class (Sun, Jan 16, 4-6pm, $85). To register, call 415.474.2253.
