The Brixton hits the Marina

Walking the other night in the frigid weather of SF I got my first glimpse of new Union St addition, The Brixton.  Set to open in the next week or so, The Brixton will feature classic American cuisine like flatbread pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and mains.  Head chefs Michelle Mah and Jon Hara, formerly of Midi, are set on satisfying the appetites of San Franciscans with specialties like French Onion Dip served in a mini dutch oven.  See additional details on this warming appetizer at Tasting Table

The Brixton takes over a central spot on Union St between Webster and Fillmore, thankfully putting to rest the atrocity that was once Left at Alburqurque (good riddance).  Upon my first peek, the spot looks comforting and inviting, with dark wooden floors, ornate Victorian brocade wallpaper on the back wall, and a large central bar sure to entice a crowd.  For this classier spot, you do not have to have a popped collar to enjoy this new Marina haunt (thank goodness).
