The End of an Era
The wrecking crew started tearing down the Transbay Terminal this morning in order to make room for the new and improved Transbay Transit Center Project. The sound of the wrecking ball hitting the concrete must be massive.
The TJPA (aka Transbay Joint Powers Authority) want to create a “Grand Central Station of the West”. Although slated to be completed in 2017, knowing our city’s history with construction, the $4 billion project probably won’t be finished until 2050.
