WASBE International Conference kicks off on July 12;
bringing international symphonic wind ensembles to Downtown San Jose.
The World Association of Symphonic Band Ensembles invites music enthusiasts to a week-long celebration of wind bands including concerts, educational events, and exhibitors.
SAN JOSE, CA. The biennial World Association of Symphonic Band Ensembles (WASBE) Conference will take place July 12-18th at various locations in downtown San Jose including – The California Theatre, Fairmont Hotel, and San Jose State University. As the only international organization for wind band ensembles, WASBE will host musicians, conductors, publishers and educators from over 50 countries.
WASBE is a non-profit international association open to all individuals, institutions and industries interested in symphonic wind bands and wind ensembles as serious and distinctive mediums of musical expression and cultural heritage. WASBE has a membership of over 1000 individuals and organizations in more than 50 countries throughout the world.
Each day of the conference will feature two outstanding performing groups from the USA (include the Dallas Winds and Lone Star Wind Orchestra), Canada, Germany, Israel, and Japan as well as the WASBE Youth Wind Orchestra. All concerts will be held at the beautiful and historic California Theatre. The first show is at 3:00PM and the second show starts at 8:00PM.
The WASBE Youth Wind Orchestra (WYWO) is an integral part of every WASBE Conference. The ensemble will be comprised of some of the finest young musicians from all around the globe who will come together in San Jose to rehearse for the week and close the Conference with a performance at 4:00pm on Saturday, July 18, at the beautiful California Theatre.
