The city of tomorrow – What does it look like? Who will build it? Who will shape its future?
Who builds the city and who creates its future? This question is more important than ever: Due to the challenges brought upon us by migration, demographic change and social polarization it is important to know what the city of tomorrow should look like and by whom it should be built. The usual decision-makers and investors have already presented their competences. Now it is essential to give fresh impetus of new innovative groups and initiatives to the process of urban development.
“Weltstadt – Who creates the city” connects different local interest groups and activists and offers them an international platform to test different forms of city planning. In this way different groups and parties can exchange their ideas and visions which leads to a more innovative, creative and sustainable city of tomorrow.
“Weltstadt – Who creates the city?” is a cooperative project of the Goethe-Institut and the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conversation, Construction and Reactor Safety.
