SLOW MOTION COWBOYS
The Slow Motion Cowboys have been playing up and down the west coast since 2002. Influenced by old stories and new adventures, the sound pulls you into the kitchen, the coast or memories of past kisses when you sat and sang by a wood burning stove. Though SMC performs almost strictly original music, the song writing draws willingly from old-time bluegrass, folk, and other outlaw country pickers. On the new record, Hill Climber, stories of a forgotten West are interwoven with the sounds and smells of the world we live in today. In the end SMC seeks to create songs for a new time using the instruments and harmonies of the past.

Hang Jones front-man, Stephen Grillos took this to heart when writing the songs for their debut album, "The Ballad of Carlsbad County." What began as a collection of bluegrass inspired country-rock songs evolved into a Western Outlaw-themed story album complete with hangings, gunfights, love, sex, and revenge.
