Lumerians and Wax Idols

SEE EVENT DETAILS
LUMERIANS Live, it is all about the dance; at once a visceral and psychological encounter. Flickering visions are projected, keyboards buzz, drums pound, bodies sway and minds melt. As the expanded cinema projections that intensify their live shows suggest, the band is constantly pushing their sounds toward musical synesthesia. The vibrant evocations and tribal rumblings are so intoxicating that sensory registers are crossed: sonics becomes optics, music becomes vision, psychedelia becomes phantasmagoria. While the music draws from many sources, it is focused on exploratory visions of other worlds and states of being. So by all means open your mind, but watch where you step.

"A great debut from San Franciscan quartet, Lumerians. The self-titled ep walks freely between pounding krautian rhythms, etherial harmonies and even touches of dub. The band take nods from just about every arena feeding into modern psychedelics; keyboards buzz, drums pound and atmospherics rise into murky clouds of dust." --Raven Sings the Blues

WAX IDOLS straddle the line between ripping tough/tender post-punk/goth-pop, and irresistibly anthemic indie rock hooks. So it comes as no surprise that the band has recently signed to Slumberland Records, with a full-length LP set to drop just days before this show. (And produced by Mark Burgess of The Chameleons, no less!) Led by the enigmatically agitated Heather Fedewa (aka Hether Fortune, ex-Hunx & His Punx, Bare Wires, and also currently a member of CastleFace Records' Blasted Canyons).

This event is all ages.
