Catharine Clark Gallery announces Breaking Ground Breaking, the inaugural exhibit in the new 150 Minna Street location. Opening reception Saturday, June 2, 1-7pm.
This group exhibition presents a selection of artists, with both long relationships to the gallery and new. The selection of work is informed by the construction term "ground breaking"-wherein the first dig with a shovel signifies creation and growth-in reference to architectural designer Tim Campbell's transformation of the new space from a former 1920s farm equipment warehouse to a contemporary art gallery. The work presents a span of media including painting, drawing, printmaking, site-specific installation, and new media.
