Chelsea Brown draws and paints sword wielding, badass ladies bent on revenge and wreaking havoc. Working mainly with graphite, she is inspired by all things epic, legendary and womanly. With a background in costume design, her work is heavily character driven portraiture infused with narrative. She creates new characters and re-imagines historical figures geared towards emulating female heroes of fiery self-assuredness and primal combative natures. She relishes foggy Sundays of rumination over her drafting table in the Outer Sunset.
Her solo show is part of the Paint Pens Collective Artist Spotlight series, curated by Shayna Yasuhara. The body of work will include some classics, as well as number of new pieces. **The opening reception will also include the release of a limited print & button gift set! **
