Who needs shock therapy when you can spend an evening with Bay Area’s best comedic talent, weekly at the Shelton Theater (533 Sutter St.)? That’s why Jon Allen, Scott Simpson, and Eloisa Bravo proudly announce Cheaper Than Therapy, a stand-up comedy show where the cleverest (and, yes, craziest) comic minds uncork in an evening of comedy and catharsis. But the benefits aren't limited to those on the stage. As the punchlines pile on and the room starts to crack up, you too will discover that laughter really is the best medicine.
Eloisa Bravo has performed at the Punch Line, the Purple Onion, Cobb's and Rooster T. Feathers, as well as the Palm Beach, Miami, and Hollywood Improvs. She has won several comedy competitions in the San Francisco Bay Area and has been asked to perform at many festivals and showcases.
Jon Allen has performed at the Punch Line in San Francisco, Cap City Comedy Club in Austin, Texas, and regularly performs in venues throughout the New York City area. Allen's work has appeared in Wired Magazine, Tech Crunch, Savage Henry, and The Rachel Maddow Blog, in addition to his numerous physics publications. You can find him on Twitter at https://twitter.com/mathturbator
Scott Simpson has performed at SF Sketchfest, the Punch Line in San Francisco, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and the North American Comedy and Music Festival. Simpson's show “You Look Nice Today” has received the Podcast Award for Best Comedy Podcast and his jokes can be found on the illustrious twitter at https://twitter.com/scottsimpson
Each week, Jon, Eloisa, and Scott are joined by the three of the best comics from the Bay Area and beyond to bring you a fresh, exciting (approx.) 75 min of stand-up comedy. The bar opens at 9pm, so come out early and have a few drinks before the show starts!
