On Sunday, August 30th, Bay Area philanthropists, activists and notables will gather for the inaugural San Francisco Red Star Gala benefiting American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA). The elegant gala will honor Magen David Adom’s (MDA) wartime medics and prominent local activists while raising funds to benefit MDA and the building of its new national blood center in Israel. The evening will be hosted by Emmy award-winning actor and singer Wayne Brady, and will consist of a cocktail reception, sit-down dinner and program. AFMDA will honor creator of SKYY Vodka and local philanthropist Maurice Kanbar with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and entrepreneur Lior Tamir with the Next Generation Award.
