Take your chances at artmaking with Creativity Explored artists! In this four-hour class, CE2's Studio Manager and Visual Arts Instructor, Francis Kohler will present a brief overview of a few artists (such as Marcel Duchamp, John Cage, Karina Smigla-Bobinski) who have utilized aleatory techniques in the creation of art. He will also discuss the act of "taking chances," embracing accidents, and exploring various ideas around intentionally using chance as a conscious strategy in artmaking. Participants will then split up into groups (or go solo) and engage in creative activities that explicitly employ chance as a method in producing work.
