San Francisco’s Best Parties This Weekend

After the Halloween and Giants festivities of last week, the dance music scene is keeping the momentum going with nu-disco producer Tom Trago and two massive shows at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

Thursday, November 6: Tom Trago at Vessel
Tom Trago dropped his debut single, “Live With The BBQ,” in 2006. Soon after, the Dutch DJ became known for a style that blends disco, house and boogie. For the past couple years Trago has been touring regularly with gigs in dance music hotspots Ibiza, London and New York. Embarking on his North American tour, Tom Trago brings a Euro flair with a funky disco foundation to the Bay.

 


Friday, November 7: I am Hardwell at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
At the ripe age of 25, Dutch producer Hardwell has been named No. 1 DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Poll for the last two years. His electro beats bring huge crowds to popular festivals like Ultra Music in Miami, Electronic Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Electric Zoo, Coachella, Future Music Festival and TomorrowWorld. His most recent achievement was becoming a resident DJ at Hakkasan Las Vegas with his series, “Go Hardwell or Go Home.”

 


Friday, November 7: Digitalism at The Independent
Digitalism is a German electro duo founded in 2004 in Hamburg, Germany, Made famous by “2 Hearts” and a colaborations with Julian Casablancas from their second album released in 2011, Digitalism has a unique electro indie vibe that recently grabbed the attention of Kitsuné Records. Look for the duo’s popular remixes of Tom Vek, the Futureheads, Daft Punk, Tiga, Klaxons, White Stripes, Monk, Depeche Mode and Cut Copy.

 


Saturday, November 8: Bassnectar at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
Bassnectar fuses his love of heavy bass sounds with genres the range across across the board. A SF local, Bassnectar first made waves with renowned sets at Burning Man. His fans and sound quickly spread from the Playa to aroudn the world. He’s back on stage in the Bay with GRiZ, Lindsay Lowend and Son of Kick on the NVSB Tour.

 


Saturday, November 8: Dave Seaman at Harlot
A veteran of the DJ scene, Dave Seaman has remixed and produced for everybody from David Bowie to Kylie Minogue and the Pet Shop Boys. The UK import blends trance electro sounds with pulsating house beats to create a sound of his own. He has a monthly show on Frisky Radio’s Radio Therapy where he consistently debuts new music and mixes for his thousands of loyal listeners.
