Imagine Dragons, Sting Kick Off America’s Cup Concerts
San Francisco gets a new live music venue starting Friday with Imagine Dragons at America’s Cup Pavilion.
Located at Piers 27 and 29, the new 9,000-person capacity outdoor arena was built to accompany this year’s international yacht racing competition. Live Nation is approved to hold up to 30 live concerts from mid-May through October at the newly created music venue.
Spectators will also be allowed to watch the America’s Cup races live during the day before the evening shows. Highlights include Weezer, Cheech & Chong, summertime staple Steve Miller Band and, an appropriate pick, yacht rock favorites Steely Dan.
