Phoenix, Black Keys to Play Nola Jazz Fest
There’s still no word on the lineup for Coachella 2013, but the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, next in line on the national festival circuit, released its lineup today with Fleetwood Mac, the Black Keys, Frank Ocean, Hall & Oates and Phoenix on the bill.
The festival returns for its 44th year starting April 26 with its usual eclectic mix of hundreds of performers, including NOLA favorites, classic rock acts and new bands.
Highlights this year include Phoenix, who are back on the road supporting a new album, new R&B standout and NOLA native Frank Ocean, blues youngblood Gary Clark Jr., hipster fashion icons Hall & Oates and Fleetwood Mac, The Black Keys, Trombone Shorty, John Mayer (no joke, his blues band is tops), Ben Harper, Jimmy Cliff, Willie Nelson and many more.
NOLA Jazz Fest is also the only festival that rivals the food pairings at Outside Lands with local favorites like fried chicken (some of the best I’ve ever had), seafood au gratin, boudin balls, cracklins and just about every other dish from the Cajun cookbook.
