This Friday, October 26, As You Like It returns to Beatbox after a small break since their collaborative after-hours session with Resident Advisor at Decibel Festival. Morgan Geist, Safeword, Conor and resident DJs Rich Korach vs Mossmoss are booked for the costume party.

Morgan Geist established himself as a house and disco stalwart producing and DJing as half of Metro Area and solo. He launched his Environ imprint in the 90s on which most of Metro Area’s tracks were released. His latest collaboration with Damon C. Scott as Storm Queen has been especially popular, garnering attention globally as well as with many SF deep house aficionados.

On a similar note, local producers Safeword have been picking up momentum in the last year with releases on Bad Animal, the imprint launched by former SF resident and [KONTROL] founder, Alland Byallo, as well as the Berlin-based minimal tech-house label, Mobilee. After a brief European tour, they’ve been slaying dance floors locally and are a snug fit for this line up.

Whether or not you caught Metro Area at No Way Back earlier this year, or Safeword at any of their recent local gigs, As You Like It’s Freaky Friday will be a good bet if you’re looking to vibe on some deep, soulful tunes this Halloween weekend.
