SF Film Society Reopens Filmhouse Residency Program
The San Francisco Film Society has announced it is reopening FilmHouse, a residency program which provides filmmakers access to office space for all stages of film production, access to a plethora of filmmaking tools and a collaborative work environment.
Located at 1426 Fillmore, FilmHouse features eight production spaces for narrative and documentary filmmakers and filmmaking teams. Through Filmmaker360, a filmmaker service program of the SF Film Society, these spaces will be offered for free of charge with the aid of Kenneth Rainin Foundation and San Francisco Film Commission. In addition to the space, residents will also have access to additional tools and programs like guest speakers, script reviews, production interns and SFFS marketing and publicity opportunities.
Originally launched in August 2008 the last residency program ended in early 2011. The new FilmHouse program offers nearly twice the space of the original site at Pier 27, meaning a greater number of filmmakers per residency program, as well as being in a more central location in San Francisco. The next residency program begins in February 2013 and Filmmaker360 are currently accepting applications through Novembers 7.
