The Bay Bridged Announces the 2012 Phono del Sol Music & Food Festival

For fans of amazing indie music and tasty local treats the 2nd annual Phono del Sol Festival is exactly where you should be headed on Saturday, July 21 at Potrero del Sol Park in the Mission District.

The Bay Bridged, long lauded for their incredible and in-depth coverage of Bay Area independent rock, pop, folk and electronica, has once again teamed up with acclaimed recording studio Tiny Telephone to produce a day long, all ages festival of our favorite things: great bands and delicious food. Potrero del Sol Park is located on 25th Street @ Utah and the built in amphitheater combined with the sloping hills that surround the stage make for an epic sonic outdoor arena experience without the typical standard arena bummers – hundreds of thousands of people, giant television monitors and 2.5 second delay from the stage. No doubt, the festival will be well attended, but the set-up of the stage and viewing grounds really lends to an intimate and approachable festival experience, not to mention the fact that there will be some of the Bay Area’s best food trucks there for when our tummies get grumbly. Look forward to indulging on some Doc’s of the Bay, Kung Fu Tacos, Kasa Indian, TomKat, An the Go, Whisk on Wheels, Voodoo Van, and Frozen Kuhsterd. This year is co-headlined by The Fresh & Onlys and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Support bands will be: Gardens & Villa (get your flute quiver ready), Dominant Legs (get your submissive legs ready), La Sera, Sea of Bees (love us some Jules) and Mwahaha (these guys are incredible live).

The 2nd annual Phono del Sol Music and Food Festival takes place on Saturday, July 21 at Potrero del Sol Park on 25th @ Utah. Tickets are $7-10 sliding scale and go on sale next Tuesday, June 5. A portion of the proceeds will benefit San Francisco Recreation and Parks, as well as two Mission-based nonprofits, Women’s Audio Mission and Girlventures. More information about all of the festivities is available at PhonoDelSol.com.
