This week’s best new exhibits include the Arthur Pollock book release, Kirk Stoller sculptures and the annual Spectrum Art Auction.

On Friday, head to SF Camerawork to celebrate the release of Arthur Pollock (Unpiano), a 184-page hardcover that features 151 black and white photographs from the masterful photojournalist. The stunning collection spans nearly all of Pollock’s 50+ year career, and release will be accompanied by an exhibit of Pollock’s work (on display from Thursday to Saturday).

Also on Friday,  Kirk Stoller‘s latest solo show, I Hope I Don’t Fall Down, opens at the Romer Young Gallery. Stoller, is a sculptural artist who takes weathered materials and combines them with shiny plastic surfaces to create whimsical, colorful structures. The resulting pieces are simple, but touch on strong life themes like balance, adjustment and points of connection.

On Sunday, collectors and art-buying newbies alike will support art for a cause at the Spectrum Art Auction at the Mezzanine. The live and silent auctions will include a range of mediums and styles from well-known and emerging artists. This year, proceeds will benefit Access Institute SF, a local non-profit dedicated to providing mental health service to low-income and uninsured Bay Area residents.
