Heidi and As You Like It Bring The Jackathon to Public Works

As You Like It returns to Public Works with an extra special party put together in part by one of the hardest working women in house music, Heidi. For the first time, she brings her Jackathon tour to SF and will be headlining with Boris Werner, along with support from Adnan Sharif, Bells & Whistles, and Honey Soundsystem DJs, Mozaic and Mossmoss in the Odd Job Loft.

Growing up in Winsor, Ontario, Canada, Heidi developed an interest in music from vibrant scenes in neighboring cities like Detroit and Chicago. Eventually she moved to London to advance her efforts in the music industry, where her work with record labels, namely in the inception of Phonica, exposed her to a wide variety of releases. DJing naturally came as the next step for her after she became an avid vinyl collector. Then in 2004, she moved to Berlin and got involved with Get Physical Music, a label devoted to quality minimal and deep house started by M.A.N.D.Y., DJ T and Booka Shade.

Apart from her work at Get Physical, Heidi has also kept busy with her radio show on BBC Radio 1 “In New DJs We Trust.” To our enjoyment, she also puts aside time to advance her party agenda with her Jackathon tour, in which she plays with a selection of DJs who have inspired her in recent years. In the San Francisco installment, we are fortunate to have Amsterdam-based Boris Werner, whose enthusiasm glows in his DJ sets and will likely impress SF’s party scene.

Until then, check out Heidi’s Jackathon compilation, with appearances from artists of the revamped NY house scene and other tried-and-true deep house acts from across the pond here. You can also listen to Boris Werner’s exclusive As You Like It podcast here.

The Jackathon comes to Public Works this Friday. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.
