The specter of early Green Day shows up in “I Wanna Meet Dave Grohl,” a new Wavves track from the Life Sux EP, due out September 20 on Nathan Williams’ Ghost Camp label.

This is a cool tune that mixes Dookie-era pop-punk snarl/lyrics about apathy/uncertainty with the surf-y thing all the kids are doing these days (including Williams’ girlfriend Best Coast), and ends with a riff that sounds a lot like The Strokes’ “12:51.”
